MAGA Supporters Worried About Trump’s Health

While campaigning in Iowa over the weekend, multiple people on social media noted that former President Donald Trump did not look well.

Trump, 77, has been taking it slower on the campaign trail this time around compared to the torrid pace of 2016.

The former president, who is set for caucus showdown in a freezing Iowa today, has had to fend off speculation about his health and vitality for years, with Trump preferring to conceal intimate details of his medical records in an effort to maintain his image in front of the public, reports The Express.

But two clips of Trump from a recent address to residents of the city of Waukee have once again sparked questions about his health, with videos reposted by anti-Trump accounts claiming that Trump is dragging his leg behind him, including one where he is delivering “a lot of pizza” to firefighters a day ahead of the Iowa caucus.

One clip on X showed Trump delivering eight boxes of pizza to the members of the Waukee Fire Department. The video was posted by Trump supporter “johnny maga,” to his 63K followers saying the former President is “carrying around 8 pizzas like it’s nothing. Biden would face plant with more than 2.”

The clip was reposted by Ron Filipkowski, the editor-in-chief of the independent news network Meidas Touch, writing that Trump “keeps dragging that right leg.” The reposted video on Filipkowski’s Twitter has garnered 828.8 thousand views.

Trump supporters responded to the posts by arguing that video showing the former president carrying a handful of pizzas showed his vigor.

In 2020, while president, Trump caught a case of severe COVID-19, which, according to reports, caused “extremely depressed blood oxygen levels at one point and a lung problem associated with pneumonia caused by the coronavirus, according to four people familiar with his condition.

His prognosis became so worrisome before he was taken to Walter Reed National Military Medical Center that officials believed he would need to be put on a ventilator, two of the people familiar with his condition said.

Mr. Trump’s blood oxygen level alone was cause for extreme concern, dipping into the 80s, according to the people familiar with his evaluation. The disease is considered severe when the blood oxygen level falls to the low 90s.

The former president resisted being taken from the White House to Walter Reed, relenting when aides told him that he could walk out on his own, or risk waiting until the U.S. Secret Service was forced to carry him out if he got sicker, two people familiar with the events said.”

The attacks on Trump’s health come as Biden’s own physical and mental fitness have come under more scrutiny.

The Daily Mail noted that the president appeared to “zone out” after launching broadsides against Trump during his first campaign speech of the year earlier in the month.

“Biden had just concluded his remarks when he turned to leave the stage only to have his wife, first lady Jill Biden rush up to him to take him by the hand.

As she approached her husband, she appeared to whisper something in his ear but smartly managed to avoid the view of television cameras that were recording the awkward moment.

Dr. Jill then attempted to lead her husband off the stage only to have her husband suddenly turn to the crowd and began speaking once again, talking over the exit music that was already playing over the loudspeakers.”

Shortly after Biden’s campaign stop, he flew to Delaware to spend the weekend and video of him leaving Air Force One appeared to show him confused.

The public has expressed concerns about both aged presidential candidates. “Three-quarters of voters say they’re concerned about President Joe Biden’s age and mental fitness, while nearly two-thirds have concerns about the multiple trials former President Donald Trump faces, a new national NBC News poll finds, casting a gloomy shadow over the upcoming 2024 presidential election.

Yet according to the poll, a combined 74% of registered voters say they have major concerns (59%) or moderate concerns (15%) that Biden, at age 80, doesn’t have the necessary mental and physical health to be president for a second term.

According to the poll, 62% have either major concerns (52%) or moderate concerns (10%) about Trump facing different criminal and civil trials for alleged wrongdoing, including for trying to overturn the 2020 presidential election.

And 47% have either major concerns (34%) or moderate concerns (13%) about Trump, at age 77, not having the necessary mental and physical health to be president for a second term.”

Recent polling showed all three Republicans leading president Joe Biden in the 2024 general election. The Hill wrote, “The CBS News/YouGov poll found that former President Trump, former U.N. Ambassador Nikki Haley and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis each edge out Biden in a head-to-head match-up. While Trump remains the clear favorite in the GOP primary, Haley fared the best against Biden.

Haley had an 8-point lead over Biden — 53 percent support to 45 percent. This is likely due to her garnering more support among moderates and Independents than what Trump and DeSantis received, according to the survey.

In a contest with Biden, DeSantis received 51 percent of support, while the president received 48 percent.

The match-up between Biden and Trump, the two front-runners for the 2024 election, was the closest among the GOP presidential hopefuls. The poll found that 50 percent of respondents would vote for Trump and 48 percent would vote for Biden.”
