If you read any of the media reviews of Joe Biden’s State of the Union address last week, you would have thought he gave one of the greatest speeches of all time. Politico went as far as to call the reviews “generally glowing.”
Fox News noted, “Liberal-leaning journalists and media personalities gave President Biden’s State of the Union speech high praise, with some claiming that it made his detractors look foolish for voicing concerns over his age.
Former CNN journalist John Harwood, known as one of the most sycophantic Biden White House boosters in the media, mocked the president’s critics for saying they were worried about his vitality.
‘[T]hose Dems complaining that Biden lacks vigor and fight getting splash of cold water in the face right now,” he wrote, later adding that the “people yapping for so long about Biden not being up to the job look pretty dumb this morning.’
‘My fellow Americans the issue facing our nation isn’t how old we are it’s how old our ideas are? Hate, anger, revenge, retribution are among the oldest of ideas,’ CNN analyst Juliette Kayyem wrote, quoting from Biden’s speech. ‘It would seem Biden has landed on a perfect framing for the age issue.'”
The problem for liberals in the media is that they don’t live in reality and merely a few days after, their bubble has begun to burst. CNN recently polled voters about the speech in which Biden mostly yelled about Trump. It wasn’t pretty.
“Pre-State of The Union, positive views toward Joe Biden, 33%. How about now? Well, the same — 33%. No change,” Enten said.
The poll displayed a slight change among voters who view Biden negatively, increasing from 50% to 54% after the president’s SOTU speech. However, Enten dismissed the difference, chalking it up to the margin of error, according to The Daily Caller.
“The negative went up a little bit, 50% to 54%. But that’s within the margin of error,” Enten said.
“The bottom line that you should be taking away here, is that there has been no change in the popularity of Joe Biden among all Americans. Not a big surprise,” Enten said. “Traditionally speaking, we haven’t seen that change. I know that there was some of that immediate, you know, post-reaction polling that suggests maybe there would be. But in reality, 33, 33. Don’t have to be a mathematical wizard to know that ain’t any movement.”
While much of the left praised Biden for being aggressive in the speech, the president’s address was not without consternation. Duing an ad-libbed portion of the speech, the president accidentally spoke the truth, calling the an illegal immigrant accused of murdering Georgia college student Laken Riley “an illegal.”
The National Review wrote tha “this has made for the one discordant note in the otherwise over-the-moon reception by the Left of the president’s State of the Union address.
Sure, the president has supposedly vanquished the age issue, energized his campaign, and put Donald Trump on his back foot, but he used what polite opinion considers an antiquated, offensive word to refer to the legal status of a brutal killer. He really should be more careful next time.
It’s almost as if the president used the phrase ‘colored people’ when he meant ‘people of color,’ or ‘the blacks’ when he meant ‘Black.'”
Proving that he has been completely captured by his leftwing staff, Biden caved, appearing on MSNBC and desperately apologizing for not using nicer language to describe an alleged brutal murderer and gang member.
Biden apologizes for calling Laken Riley’s alleged killer an illegal' during his State of the Union
“An undocumented person. And I shouldn’t have used illegal. It’s undocumented,'” Biden said.
“Yes,” Biden added when asked if he regretted it.

There couldn’t be a bigger contrast on the issue than Biden’s groveling versus Trump’s response to the murder.
Biden’s cowering was blasted by Donald Trump. Campaigning in Rome, Georgia, shortly after the president’s interview airs, the GOP frontrunner laid into Biden for the comments.
“Joe Biden went on television and apologized for calling Laken’s murderer an illegal,” he said to loud jeers and boos. “Biden should be apologizing for apologizing to this killer.”
ABC News revealed that “Trump was joined at his rally by Riley’s parents, her sister and friends and met with them before he took the stage. They were welcomed with a standing ovation and large signs handed out by the campaign that featured Riley’s photograph and the words ‘SAY HER NAME!’ ‘REMEMBER OUR ANGELS,’ they read on the back.”
“We share your grief,” Trump told them in his remarks.
Riley, a 22-year-old student at Augusta University, was killed on February 22 as she jogged on the nearby University of Georgia campus.
According to The New York Post, “Jose Antonio Ibarra, a 26-year-old Venezuelan citizen who entered the United States illegally in 2022, is being held without bond on charges of malice murder, felony murder, aggravated battery, kidnapping and other counts.
The suspect, who did not know Riley, never should’ve been able to carry out the alleged attack on the beloved student, former classmate and friend Callie Irvin told The Post.
‘I think it’s starting to set in what really happened,’ Irvin said Friday. ‘We were shocked and really sad. It was totally unexpected. But now there’s anger. At least I can say that I’m angry.’”
Ibarra had been allowed to stay in the country after being caught by authorities. He has been connected to the Tren de Aragua gang on internal Department of Homeland Security documents seen by The Post.
