Garland’s DOJ Gets All Investigators Removed From Hunter’s IRS Case To Allegedly Silence Whistleblower

On the same day the FBI admitted that it cooked up the “Russian hoax” that undermined the Trump presidency, a whistleblower from the IRS has informed Congress that the Department of Justice has removed the entire investigative team looking into Hunter Biden’s alleged crimes.

On Monday, the IRS removed the “entire investigative team” from its ongoing probe of first son Hunter Biden. The move comes purportedly in retaliation against the whistleblower who reached out to Congress but would indicate that Joe Biden has supported his son’s alleged request to use the Department of Justice against his enemies

The New York Post writes, “The purge allegedly was done on the orders of the Justice Department, the whistleblower’s attorneys informed congressional leaders in a letter.

‘Today the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Criminal Supervisory Special Agent we represent was informed that he and his entire investigative team are being removed from the ongoing and sensitive investigation of the high-profile, controversial subject about which our client sought to make whistleblower disclosures to Congress. He was informed the change was at the request of the Department of Justice,’ Mark Lytle and Tristan Leavitt wrote.

The whistleblower, who supervised the Hunter Biden probe since early 2020, hasn’t publicly identified the first son as the subject of the case that he says is being brushed under the rug, but congressional sources confirmed it.

‘On April 27, 2023, IRS Commissioner Daniel Werfel appeared before the House Committee on Ways and Means. He testified: ‘I can say without any hesitation there will be no retaliation for anyone making an allegation or a call to a whistleblower hotline.’ However, this move is clearly retaliatory and may also constitute obstruction of a congressional inquiry,’ the lawyers went on.

Leaders at the IRS could not identify who was speaking to Congress, so they decided to burn down the house to end the leak. USA Today reported that the letter to Congress said “the IRS criminal supervisory special agent ‘was informed that he and his entire investigative team are being removed from the ongoing and sensitive investigation of the high-profile, controversial subject about which our client sought to make whistleblower disclosures to Congress.’

The congressional informant said that The Justice Department, which is led by Attorney General Merrick Garland, who has acted as a political hatchet man for the White House, made the call.

“However, this move is clearly retaliatory and may also constitute obstruction of a congressional inquiry,” said the letter from Trian Leavitt, president of Empower Oversight, a group representing whistleblowers, and Mark Lytle, a partner at Nixon Peabody.

“Our client has a right to make disclosures to Congress,” the letter added. “Any attempt by any government official to prevent a federal employee from furnishing information to Congress is also a direct violation of longstanding appropriations restriction.”

The whistleblower contacted leaders of the House Ways and Means, the Judiciary, and the Senate Finance and Judiciary committees.

The whistleblower informed Congress that Hunter Biden was receiving special treatment from the IRS in April, during the same week that the chairman of the House Oversight Committee announced that several Biden family members received money from foreign sources as part of an “influence peddling” scheme.

Delaware U.S. attorney David Weiss, an Obama appointee from 2018, is leading a criminal inquiry about Hunter’s taxes. The president’s son had previously received help from his “sugar brother,” Kevin Morris, a Hollywood lawyer, in paying his back taxes. Morris has also been tasked with leading an aggressive push in defense of Hunter, which has received criticism from the White House.

The investigation, which first began in 2018, “also pertains to whether Hunter Biden made a false statement in connection with a gun purchase,” according to The National Review.

In 2020, Biden said he was “confident that a professional and objective review of these matters will demonstrate that I handled my affairs legally and appropriately.”

Last fall, reports indicated that the FBI believed it had enough evidence to charge Hunter Biden with tax crimes.
