Marco Rubio is many things, and he’s had his foibles over the years, but one thing he isn’t is a conspiracy theorist. Unlike some of the Democratic presidential candidates, you aren’t going to see him go off on a weird tangent or talk about government secrets. That’s why what he recently announced has so many people raising their eyebrows.
On Tuesday evening, the Florida senator said that he has heard “shocking” firsthand accounts of UFOs said to him by high-ranking government officials, backing up what recent whistleblower David Grusch has testified to knowing.
The New York Post writes that Rubio (R-Fla.), who serves as vice chairman of the Senate Intelligence Committee, told NewsNation Monday that “serious” whistleblowers — who “have held very high clearances and high positions within our government” — have come forward to the panel about several incidents in recent years.
“Some of these people still work in the government,” the 52-year-old Rubio told the outlet. “And frankly, a lot of them are very fearful, fearful of their jobs, fearful [of] their clearances, fearful of their career, and some, frankly, are fearful of harm coming to them.”
Rubio declined to say whether he found the whistleblowers “either not credible or credible, because we have no basis” to judge their stories.
“Understand, some of these claims are things that are beyond, sort of the realm of what any of us has ever dealt with,” he added.
Rubio told NewsNation that the Intelligence Committee witnesses were likely the same people Grusch cited in his public remarks about the UFO program.
The committee unanimously voted last week to halt funding for government programs that study “unidentified anomalous phenomena” without providing information about their findings to Congress or Director of National Intelligence Avril Haines.
UFO whistleblower David Grusch is not the only high-level government official to come forward with such claims, according to Sen. Marco Rubio. NewsNation's @JoeKhalilTV breaks down what he learned when speaking with Rubio.

Earlier this month, David Grusch, “a 36-year-old decorated former combat officer in Afghanistan,” who, according to Fox News, “served the National Reconnaissance Office, acting as their representative to Congress’ Unidentified Aerial Phenomena Task Force from 2019-2021. At the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, he also served from late 2021 to July 2022 as co-lead of unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP) analysis and its representative to the task force, which was recently renamed the All Domain Anomaly Resolution Office.
The Debrief first reported Monday that Grusch said he filed a whistleblower complaint to Congress and the Intelligence Community Inspector General (ICIG) on classified information that he insists proves the recoveries of partial fragments through and up to intact vehicles have been made for decades through the present day by the U.S. government, its allies and defense contractors.
The recoveries have been determined through analysis to be ‘of exotic origin (non-human intelligence, whether extraterrestrial or unknown origin) based on the vehicle morphologies and material science testing and the possession of unique atomic arrangements and radiological signatures,’ Grusch said.
‘We are not talking about prosaic origins or identities,” Grusch said of the information he submitted to Congress and the ICIG. “The material includes intact and partially intact vehicles.'”
Like Rubio, Grusch sat down with NewsNation and claimed the American public has been lied to for decades.
“There is a sophisticated disinformation campaign targeting the U.S. populace which is extremely unethical and immoral,” Grusch said.
If Grusch’s statements are valid, he would become the first time an official representative from the U.S. government to admit that extraterrestrials are real.
“We’re definitely not alone,” Grusch confirmed “The data points, quite empirically that we’re not alone.”
Grusch also told NewsNation it isn’t just spacecraft that have been recovered.
“Well, naturally, when you recover something that’s either landed or crashed. Sometimes you encounter dead pilots and believe it or not, as fantastical as that sounds, it’s true,” he said.
Republicans in the House of Representatives have announced that they will investigate Grusch’s claims.
“There will be oversight of that,” Oversight Chairman James Comer announced. “We plan on having a hearing.”
The Guardian reported that “the timing of the hearing is not yet determined, but a source familiar with the matter said a date is expected to be announced in the next few weeks. Tim Burchett and Anna Paulina Luna, Republican members of Congress from Florida and Tennessee, respectively, will lead the oversight committee investigation.”

Comer said he had heard about Grusch’s claims, but added: “I don’t know anything about it.”

Tim Burchett and Anna Paulina Luna, Republican members of Congress from Florida and Tennessee, respectively, will lead the oversight committee investigation.
Rachel Partlow, communications director for Burchett, told Newsweek “that the congressman was ‘aware’ of Grusch’s claims, but could not comment on whether the veteran would be brought in to provide testimony as hearing dates and a witness list in the investigation had not been finalized.”
“All I can say is Rep. Burchett wants this hearing to be done right, and he wants to bring in credible witnesses who can provide informative public testimony,” she continued.
Following the claims, NASA said it had yet to find credible evidence of aliens or UFOs.
