Democrat Urging Supporters To Abandon Biden

Earlier in the month, Nikki Haley’s performance in the Nevada Republican Primary drew laughs from across the country. Despite Donald Trump not being on the ballot, the former ambassador to the United Nations ended up losing by double digits to no one.

Literally.

After the voting concluded, Haley trailed to “None of these candidates” by over 30 percent.

Now, Joe Biden will be facing a primary challenge in Michigan from “none of the above,” or rather “uncommitted” after the Democrat in the White House angered the sizeable Muslim population in the state.

Rashida Tlaib has announced that she will be supporting a movement to have Michigan Democrats to vote against Joe Biden because of his support for Israel in the upcoming primary in the Great Lakes State.

“Something that is a bullhorn to say enough is enough. We don’t want a country that supports wars and bombs and destruction. We want to support life. We want to stand up for every single life killed in Gaza,” Tlaib said, according to The Detroit News.

“This is the way you can raise our voices, to make us even more visible. Right now, we feel completely neglected — neglected and just unseen by our government. If you want us to be louder, then come here and vote uncommitted.”

The Arab American and Muslim activists leading the effort hope to show Biden that Michigan Democrats who oppose the administration’s approach in Gaza control what could be Biden’s margin of victory for a second term. They point to former President Donald Trump winning the state by about 10,700 votes in 2016 and Biden winning it by about 154,000 in 2020.

Listen to Michigan’s campaign manager is Tlaib’s younger sister, Layla Elabed, who said volunteers for the effort made 150,000 phone calls in its first week. They also planned phone banks through the weekend in Dearborn and a 3 p.m. rally Tuesday at the University of Michigan’s campus in Ann Arbor.

Last November, Tlaib was found to have been a member of a Facebook group that glamorized Hamas and has been accused of raising money from those connected to the terrorist group.

Tlaib and her supporters aren’t the only ones working against Biden in Michigan. Our Revolution, founded by Bernie Sanders, has joined the effort to vote for “uncommitted” in the upcoming primary.

The New York Times wrote, “On Wednesday, Our Revolution is planning to send an email to 87,000 members in Michigan and to about 225,000 supporters in other states, encouraging them to vote Uncommitted in the state’s Feb. 27 primary to “push Biden to change course on Gaza now.”

Former Representative Andy Levin, Democrat of Michigan and a signee of the letter, said Mr. Biden was at risk of having voters sit out the November election in protest of U.S. policy toward the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza. He warned that Mr. Biden could lose the state to former President Donald J. Trump in the general election without a major change in Israel policy.

‘I am working with some people who feel like they will never vote for Joe Biden, but there are many, many, many I feel will vote for Joe Biden on Nov. 5 if he changes course,’ Mr. Levin said in an interview Tuesday evening. ‘This is the best way I can help Joe Biden.’

Our Revolution’s push to back Uncommitted will include phone banking, text banking and events on Michigan’s college campuses.”

Many Democrats are sticking with Old Joe, though. “Asked about Tlaib’s message urging voters to vote uncommitted in the Democratic primary, Michigan Democratic Party Chair Lavora Barnes reiterated support for Biden.

“President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris were elected because they promised to deliver for Michigan’s families, workers, and communities — and they kept their promises,” she told NBC News.

Since the war in Gaza began, though, Biden has been criticized by Muslim and Arab American leaders in Michigan, which has a large Arab American population, particularly in the city of Dearborn.

Tlaib’s allies in “The Squad” have been vocal in their opposition to any effort by the White House to support Israel’s eradication of Hamas. Despite attacks on American sailors, for example, members of the group castigated the White House for its effort to strike back against the Houthi terrorist group in Yemen.

In Washington, a pro-Palestine group interrupted a congressional hearing on the topic to “shout praises” for the Yemeni terrorist group.
